Photo safari i.e. detour of channels in Neretva’s vessels is a chance not to be missed. Nearby is Vid, sometimes centre of ancient Roman city Narona, famous on its culture and trading.  Mljet – “Odysseus Island”, place where creative hand of nature was more skilled moulder than man. Only half an hour car ride and half an hour ride on ferry is dividing Neum from Mljet, magnificent island with two lakes surrounded by thick pine trees forest which look like it grows out from the sea. Island on island we could say. On the small island St. Mary in the centre of the lake it is situated Benedict’s monastery from the 12th century. |
